A favorite phrase heard the day after a fitting is "I was able to sew longer with tinier stitches without perspiring or pain." Polishing
Keep the shine - use your thimble! Avoid storage in direct sunlight, humidity, rubber bands, acidic cardboard, latex, polishing compounds, and abrasives. Microfiber cloth such as Flitz Microfiber Cloths which are machine washable and dryable (no softener) are recommended. General Guarantee for Thimbles and Related Jewelry by TJ Lane follows: If you quilt a hole in one of TJ's thimbles, or break a wire in a needle threader, return it to the address below (see Mailing Instructions) and we will exchange it or repair it. (Please include $10 for postage).
Use a bubble envelope, and put your thimble or item in a container with a tight lid, such as a prescription container. (Film containers are not secure enough.) Use First Class or Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Include your name, address, instructions, and $10 for return postage.
